About Our Collins Cousins
Welcome to Our Collins Cousins.

This is a work in progress, and like all work in progress there could be errors. Should you find
one, please let me know. Thank you.

The information found here has been provided by family members and their knowledge of the relatives. Without their help this site would not exist. I thank all of them with their knowledgeable contributions. Since James and Michael were brothers, known by the relatives, it was
quite a surprise to find yet another brother, John.

I am giving an approximate birth year for the parents, Cornelius and Marie or Maria McCarthy Collins. Michael, James and John came from Ireland, believe to be Cork, but not sure. They settled in Elmira, NY and Ridgebury, PA approximately 1867 and later. Michael was a farmer. According to the census records James as a laborer. John's occupation is unknown at this time.

They worked hard providing for their families. They made sure their children had a good education,
and had them seek employment to their liking.

Those Collins were a tight-lipped group!

There is some missing information, but that information is on the living. There are no living persons on this site. Information on the dead has been placed here so others, hopefully, may be
able to find their relatives or be able to provide us with more information on those who have passed on. Hopefully, if you are a Collins or a Collins relative and visit this site, you may also
be able to provide us with some of the missing information on the living relatives as well. NO PASSWORD IS NEEDED AND IF YOU DO NEED IT IT IS ELMIRA.

Information provided here is for personal use only. This information may not be sold, or used commercially without written permission.

Should you be a cousin "WELCOME" to this large family. Please sign our Guest Book with your feedback. There may not be a lot of names, but there are a lot of us!

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
